Canvas (42-83 Hunter Street) may have derived its name from the materials used by artists and craftsmen that once populated the Court Street section of Long Island City. However, the 8-story condominium also serves as a platform for visual artist Jojo Anavim: The celebrity favorite designed a mural on the side of the building to attract attention and set the tone for the interiors. There is also a mural by Mr. Anavim in the lobby; additional amenities include virtual doorman, laundry room, and fitness center.
Sales of the 15 condos have launched with prices starting at $710K. The units are mostly one-bedrooms and include a three-bedroom penthouse as well as a one-bedroom convertible duplex with a private backyard on the ground floor. All apartments feature smart, effective layouts, engineered wood flooring, and custom California closets. Kitchens have wood cabinetry, Caesarstone countertops, and state-of-the-art appliances. Bathrooms are outfitted with porcelain tile, mosaic accent wall, radiant heated floor, and Kohler toilets, sinks, bathtubs, and fixtures.
Canvas’s central Court Square location puts it a short walk from nearby museums, restaurants, and bars. The nearby Queens Plaza and Queensboro Plaza subway stations make for easy access to Manhattan.
