Velvet Abashian, the broker who has spent the past 30 years handling its rentals, identified the buyer only as being from England and planning to turn it into a single-family home.
Further uptown at 413-415 West 22nd Street, a pair of townhouses with 17 units between them were marketed with a number of flexible future uses, including two single-family homes or one mansion. They entered contract with a $12,450,000 ask.

A full-floor home in the building previously owned by Mr. Murdoch sold for $12,500,000 earlier this fall, and his triplex penthouse remains on the market for $58,000,000. There is also an option to rent the penthouse for $160,000/month.
