New York's position at the center of the finance, literary, and entertainment industries has attracted luminaries of all stripes for years, and continues to do so. But after going about their days in the limelight, it can be gratifying to have some privacy at the end of the day. Some get it by buying in highly selective cooperatives with vigilant door staff, while others are prepared to go one step further and buy a townhouse for the ultimate in privacy. Interestingly enough, townhouses and coops accounted for the majority of celebrity listings, purchases, and sales in July 2024.
