As June 2023 drew to a close, The Wall Street Journal announced that a high-floor residence at the highly coveted, Robert A.M. Stern-designed 520 Park Avenue sold for $37,500,000 in an off-market deal, giving it the week's highest sale and a price nearly 20% more than the seller paid for it in 2018. The seller was a company linked to Albert Tylis, former president and CEO of Northstar Asset Management, and the buyer was identified only through an LLC.
The building's offering plan indicates that #36, a full-floor home, measures four bedrooms, five baths, and 4,628 square feet. The Journal notes that it features interiors by Samuel Amoia, who was named one of Vogue's "Young Interior Designers to Watch" in 2015 and built up an impressive portfolio since then.

Not only was the apartment at 520 Park Avenue the top sale of the past week by far, but it was also the sixth-highest sale recorded this calendar year to date. It was dwarfed by a record-setting, custom-designed quadruplex penthouse at The Bellemont that closed for $67,879,875; Formula One star Lewis Hamilton's penthouse at 443 Greenwich Street that sold to Jennifer Gates for $51,000,000; a tower penthouse at 111 West 57th Street that closed for $47,200,000; a full-floor home at Central Park Tower that closed for $44,866,123; and Related CEO Stephen Ross' Deutsche Bank Center penthouse that closed for $40,000,000.
Meanwhile, celebrity favorite 150 Charles Street was home to the past week's top two downtown sales. Residence #14A, a three-bedroom measuring over 3,000 square feet, closed for $15,157,038 in the second-highest sale overall; both the buyer and seller performed this transaction through LLCs. A few floors down, the three-bedroom Residence #8CS closed for $10,700,000. Public records identify the seller as finance professional Charles Monticello and the buyer as an LLC.
The top co-op sale and third-highest overall took place at 817 Fifth Avenue, an uber-exclusive cooperative with only 14 units spread across its 16 floors. The ninth floor closed for an even $12,000,000 in what appears to be an off-market transaction. The buyer and seller conducted the deal through LLCs, but the building has attracted the likes of casino magnate Steve Wynn, finance executive Howard Lutnick, and actor Richard Gere.
