HFZ Capital Group’s The Bryant is now clad in the feature that will make it stand out on the NYC skyline. Thanks to David Chipperfield Architects’ sensible design, the exterior features precast concrete terrazzo panels with a mosaic of marble and sandstone chips, a combination that yields a soft matte finish. Located at 16 West 40th Street in Midtown West, the mixed-use tower rises to 34 stories, and will ultimately host 215 hotel rooms on floors two through fifteen and 57 residences above starting on the sixteenth floor. The high-rise is slated for completion in 2017.

There are currently 4 apartments for sale at The Bryant: three 2-bedroom units starting from $3.51 million and one 3-bedroom starting from $6.94 million. David Chipperfield Architects’ residences are all beautifully appointed, and maintain the terrazzo design element from exterior to interior. With crisp architectural frames and floor-to-ceiling windows, the residences are all carefully designed. Oak herringbone floors line the apartments, complete with radiant heat and honed terrazzo borders. Custom white lacquer floor-to-ceiling millwork allows for built-in storage and concealed mechanical equipment. Kitchens feature custom designed cabinetry, rich Calacatta Gold marble countertops and backsplashes, Gaggenau appliances and fully vented range hoods, and Elkay under-mount stainless steel sinks with Dornbracht fittings. Baths include radiant heat terrazzo floors, glass-enclosed wet rooms with rain showers, Dornbracht fixtures in black matte finishes, and Statuarietto marble wall slabs, countertops, and tub surrounds. Units also feature Juliet balconies for gorgeous city views.
Though hard to imagine, the building’s two triplex penthouses are appointed even more beautifully. Featuring custom cabinetry in lacquered timber or fumed oak, 10-foot, 11-inch ceilings, double height 438-square-foot loggias, private interior elevators, and separate prep kitchens, the units are designed gorgeously. Corner master bedroom suites feature fireplaces, dressing areas, and windowed baths with hand-carved solid freestanding tubs. Atop the triplexes sits a private roof deck with an adjoining sunroom, powder room, and waterfall island.
The Bryant lacks for no amenity. A 24-hour attended private residential lobby greets residents, complete with rare Portoro Extra marble walls and a custom designed lounge with terrazzo floor and leather paneled walls. On the 6th floor is a club living room lounge designed by Stonehill & Taylor, including 15-foot ceilings, a fireplace, a conference room, a dining room, a full bar, and a landscaped terrace overlooking the park. The Bryant also includes a state-of-the-art fitness center with a steam room, sauna, and showers, a porter service, private storage, bicycle storage. Residents can also have access to the hotel services, including housekeeping, laundry, an in-building restaurant, and in-residence dining and catering.
Situated across from the New York Public Library in Bryant Park, The Bryant has a prime location in the heart of Midtown West. Bryant Park is not only host to beautiful gardens and space for socialization, but historical monuments and urban amenities open to the public year-round. Close to Times Square’s many entertainment options and Fifth Avenue’s high-end shops, The Bryant makes for a full living experience inside and out.
