Built in 2016, 21 West End Avenue is one of the newest rental developments in the Lincoln Square area of Manhattan. The 43-story tower, developed by the Dermot Company, is the first of five towers to be built for the Riverside Center development masterplanned by Christian de Portzamparc. Located between West 60th Street and West 61st Street, the 529-foot tower designed by SLCE Architects sits just one block from the Hudson River waterfront, and a short walk inland will land you in Columbus Circle and then on to Central Park.
Designed by ICRAVE, interiors feature kitchens with custom millwork, walnut stained cabinetry, marble countertops and floors, and Kitchenaid appliances. Bathrooms include beautiful glass showers and built-in medicine cabinets. The homes also have climate control, Bosch washer/dryer bundles, floor-to-ceiling windows, and hardwood flooring throughout.
However, over 35,000 square feet of amenities designed by ICRAVE may be the most powerful lure in this amazing building. The package is headed by EOS, a residential program specializing in service management and event planning, and serves a dual purpose: acting as an extension of the home so residents can have shared experiences, and acting as a private club to entertain residents and their guests.
Access to amenities is $100 per month per apartment, and tack on $50 for each additional resident in the unit - a deal when considering the price of an off-site private fitness center. Fitness offerings at 21 West End include a lap pool and spa, and a state-of-the-art gym that has trainers on staff, a yoga studio, a kick-boxing room, and locker rooms that put it among the city's rentals with the best health and wellness amenities.
On the leisure side, there is a 5th floor lounge with a wet bar, card table, big-screen TVs, full kitchen, and access to a private terrace and lawn with grilling, dining, and lounging areas. The "Ratheskellar" (German for "bar in basement"), a high-end lounge room with lounge seating, golf simulator, pool table, dart board, can be used to host a private event with the help of the building's concierge, as can the full operating cafe and wine cellar with tasting table.
Furry friends are not forgotten with an indoor dog run and pet spa, and a children’s playroom comes stocked with plenty of toys and a custom-built climbable dinosaur. Additional amenities include a DIY workshop space, screening room, library, arcade with video games, foosball, and ping pong tables, and a seating area with live foliage.
21 West End is naturally in high demand, but a small handful of availabilities remains. Two-bedrooms start at $6,964/month, and a three-bedroom is listed for $8,800/month. See listings and more photos of 21 West End here.
