New building permits were filed early last year to build a 20-story, 74-unit condominium tower at 591 Third Avenue in Murray Hill. The hemmed-in parcel is located between East 38th and East 39th streets and was purchased by CB Developers, SK Development and Ironstate Development for $25.2 million back in March 2015. Lower East Side-based Rawlings Architects is the architect listed on file. Official renderings have yet to be released but the elevation shown above has been posted on the construction site. 587-591 Third Avenue was home to a row of three five-story tenement buildings have since been demolished.

The team of developers had previously submitted preliminary applications, called CPS-1 documents, for a condominium project in order to test the market. The DOB permits show that the proposed building will stand 239 feet tall and span 71,696 square feet, not including the 4,231 square feet reserved for retail on the ground and cellar levels. Listed amenities in the building permit application include residential storage, a bike and mail room, recreational space on the second floor, a rooftop terrace and a private roof deck. Floors 2 though 20 will house up to 5 apartments each.
