A new sustainable building is rising in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the South Bronx as part of the revitalization of the once industrial district. Developers at Lettire Construction Corporation are building an 8-story mixed-use structure at 255 East 138th Street, on the corner of Third Avenue. It will include 96 mixed-income apartments ranging from studios to three-bedrooms, as well as 2,547 square feet of ground floor commercial space, and an underground parking garage. Proposed retailers include a pharmacy, an urgent care center, and a food market. Lincoln Hospital is in the neighborhood, and is located along the 4/5/6 subway lines. MHG Architects is designing the project which will comply with LEED accreditation standards. Completion is expected in 2017.
