A unique residential development in Brooklyn is one step closer to completion with the topping off of one of the two buildings for the project. Developers East River Partners are constructing the buildings at 164 South Oxford Street and 171 South Portland Street in Fort Greene, and the latter of the buildings is now at full height. The two four-story buildings were designed by Barry Rice Architects and feature distinct façades. The properties are connected by a 60-foot rear courtyard, and sales and marketing for the boutique collection of 16 homes launched last month.
The firm designed the buildings to reflect the architectural and historic character of the neighborhood. 164 South Oxford is a Federal style structure that features stately brick and a grand mansard, and 171 South Portland features clean detailing and classic stucco that is reminiscent of 1920s Paris. Both marry classic Fort Greene architecture with contemporary interiors.

Though the building's are distinct in design, they are perfectly joined by the 60-foot tranquil garden resting in between, which was designed by LDGN. Residences have floor plans ranging from one- to four-bedroom units, and the development's first units are now listed on CityRealty.
In the Parisian style South Portland building, there are three available homes; a 1-bed/1.5 bath for $1.725 million (Unit 1B), a 3-bed/2-bath for $2.05 million (Unit 2A), and a 4-bed/3-bath with a private roof terrace and two balconies for $2.6 million (Unit 4A). Two units in the Federal style South Oxford building are available; a 2-bed/2-bath for $1.425 million, and a 2-bed/2.5-bath for $2.075 million.

Inside, residences feature high ceilings, wide plank natural oak floors, double-hung windows, and glass doors leading to rear balconies and terraces in most units. Kitchens feature Montclair Danby honed marble countertops and backsplashes, custom European wood soft-close cabinetry, and chic pendant lighting. Appliances include Liebherr 30-inch integrated refrigerators, Dornbracht Elio faucets, garbage disposals, Bosch dishwashers, and Bertazzoni 30-inch four burner gas ranges. Bathrooms are complete with Bianco Bello polished stone walls, Waterworks polished chrome fittings, Toto toilets, deep soaking tubs, frameless medicine cabinets, and marble floors.
The properties occupy a prime location, just blocks from the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Barclays Center, and no less than eleven subway lines. Completion for the properties is slated for next spring.
