FXFOWLE Architects' latest New York residential project Circa Central Park has topped off its structural frame and is now busy laying on its composite facade. Artimus Construction is the developer of the distinguished project and purchased the prominent site alongside Central Park for $25.5 million in 2014, according to city records.
The 140-foot high structure is located at 285 West 110th Street and hugs the recently upgraded Frederick Douglass Circle. The building's concrete frame is being covered with narrow, dark grey bricks along the Harlem-facing, side-street frontage and floor-to-ceiling glass windows along its curving south-facing elevation that overlooks Central Park. Maintaining FXFOWLE’s commitment to environmental sustainability, the development is seeking LEED Silver certification and the glassy facade will be set behind brise soleil to reduce solar heat gain.
