The NOMA condominiums will soon begin to rise at 50 West 30th Street at the nexus of NoMad and Herald Square. Inspired by elements of Bauhaus design, the building will top out 24 floors and feature a banded glass-and-brick façade across an articulation of volumes. Alchemy Properties tapped FXFowle Architects to champion the design of their $100 million development with an added flavor of bold, contemporary architecture. Expected to be complete in 2017, the neo-Bauhaus tower will host 55 gorgeously appointed condominium residences.

NoMad has become one of Manhattan’s most desirable neighborhoods, a host for contemporary art, design, fashion, and cuisine. The area’s name is an abbreviation of North of Madison Square Park. It spans roughly 20 blocks, from 25th to 30th Street, and Sixth to Lexington Avenue. The NOMA offers residents nearby restaurants such as Sweetgreen, Lupulo, and Curry in a Hurry, as well as nearby activities at Madison Square Park, and Kalustyan’s and shopping in the Flower District.
