The Jackson at 11-51 47th Avenue has risen above ground and is already framing its second and third floors. Situated on a prominent corner site in the heart of Long Island City, the building rises from the intersection of Jackson Avenue, 47th Avenue and 21st Road. Said to be where “industrial legacy meets modern luxury”, the building will feature exposed raw materials like steel, concrete and wood, and large gridded windows that will offer panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline. Ascent Development and Charney Construction & Development are the developers, with Fogarty Finger as the designers.

When completed in 2016, the future 11-story building will contain 54 luxury units ranging from one to three-bedroom apartments, and four-bedroom penthouses. Homes will feature 9-foot high ceilings, wide plank white oak floors, and walnut cabinetry. Each unit will be equipped with premium stainless steel appliances and a washer/dryer.
Although sales just began in March, real estate firm Modern Space reported the building was already 50% sold only seven weeks after the launch. Active homes on the market have one-bedrooms starting from $830,000, two-bedrooms from $1.18 million, and three-bedrooms from $1.8 million. The largest penthouses in the building are expected to ask roughly $4 million.
Amenities will include a fitness center, children’s playroom, rooftop terrace & garden, parking garage for up to 22 cars, and a 24-hour attended lobby with artwork by Tom Fruin. There will also be 1,226 square feet of retail space on the ground floor, and the building is conveniently located near MoMA PS1, and transportation via the G, 7, E and M trains.
