Borough Equities' new ground-up development at 952 Columbus Avenue on the Upper West Side has officially topped out at seven stories. Once occupied by an abandoned single-story building, the site will soon be home to 17,305 square-feet of residential space. The property is owned by the Pentecostal Church of God, which will occupy 2,800 square-feet of space on the ground floor and lower level.
Pinner Architecture is designing the new building, which will have a simple and modern facade. It will hold 15 apartments, one of which is a loft-style penthouse on the 7th floor. The units average 1,153 square-feet, but it is not yet confirmed if they will be rental units or condominiums. Amenities will include a roof deck, landscaped interior courtyard, and private balconies on some apartments. Construction for the project began in the winter of 2015 and is expected to be complete in early 2017.
