In May 2014, plans were filed for a townhouse addition in the Ocean Hill section of Bedford-Stuyvesant that would double the building's height and unit count. The 2-story, 3-family building, at 860 Macon Street is situated between Saratoga Avenue and Thomas S Boyland Street, and is being renovated into a 4-story multifamily townhouse with 6 units. There will be two units each on the first and second floors, and one unit apiece on the third and fourth floors. The new development is adding onto a classic brownstone built in 1899 that fell into disrepair. Jason Wisotsky's Four Corners Development Group is listed as the developer and, according to city records, purchased the property for $795,000 last year.
Joshua Felix of J Goldman Design is the project's designer and Joseph A. Mucciolo is the architect of record. The revamped 45-foot tall building will sport a new eye-catching facade that combines its existing ornate details with a modern touch of wooden louvers scaling up one face of its street-front elevation. Interiors are modern, and rustic woods and copper-colored fixtures are juxtaposed with sleek contemporary finishes.
