We first got a look at the proposed building at 180 East 82nd Street (1444 Third Avenue) back in 2013 when founder of ODA Architecture, Eran Chen, accidentally leaked the rendering. The original 4-story structure was demolished in 2015 but the project has been at a standstill since. Now, recent photos show construction has finally begun on the Upper East Side condo. When complete, the structure will rise 10 stories with 9 luxury full-floor residences and retail space on the ground level. Nexus Development is behind the forthcoming project.

Permits show the 180 East 82nd Street will have 1,822 square feet of commercial space and more impressively, 22,219 square feet of residential space. This means each residence averages out to over 2,400 square feet - which makes sense since the units will all have four bedrooms with 3.5 bathrooms.
ODA Architecture claims the condominium building will have the "elegance of limestone townhouses on Fifth of Madison Avenue" modernized with floor-through homes. With years in the making, developers along with ODA will certainly have to prove they can still provide the same design as the rendering.
Nexus Development's website provides interior renderings of the proposed residences as well as some insight on the details. A key locked elevator opens directly into the open living area, complete with 10' ceilings and hardwood floors. The living, dining and kitchen areas flow seamlessly together to optimize comfort and grand entertaining. Additional home features include granite kitchen counters, high-end appliances and custom walnut wood cabinets. The building features a doorman, elevator, private cellar storage, laundry room, fitness center and a common roof terrace.
