The Long Island City residential project known as Eagle Lofts has officially launched leasing. The development is from Rockrose and the building was designed by SLCE. The official website offers 1 month free on a 13-month lease along with 1 month OP. Homes come in a variety of layouts with studios priced from $2,557/month, 1 beds from $3,392/month and 2 bedrooms from $4,851/month. The residences are sleek and stylish with hardwood floors, oversized windows and Bosch washers/dryers. Gourmet kitchens feature quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances. Spacious bathrooms have Grohe fixtures and Italian porcelain flooring.
The team partnered with Slade Architecture for the interiors and Mathew Nielsen Landscape Architects for landscape design. The project aims to blend old and new by including the newly-renovated Eagle Electric Warehouse with a 54-story residential tower that topped out last year at 43-22 Queens Street and is currently one of the tallest buildings in Queens. The site is off Jackson Avenue and walking distance to Court Square (7, E, M, G trains), Queens Plaza (E, M, R trains) and Queensboro Plaza (7, N, W trains).
In the rehabilitated former warehouse are loft style apartments with exposed concrete columns, 12-foot ceilings and large windows. In the tower, homes have large glass window walls with sweeping Manhattan views. Amenities include courtyard and rooftop gardens, a multi-floor fitness center, lounge, children’s playroom, and rooftop pavilion within the original warehouse water tower.
Rather than demolish the flagship Eagle Electric factory-building, Rockrose decided to rehabilitate most of the structure - keeping roughly 80% of the building intact. Rockrose purchased the complex of factory buildings in 2013 for $48 million. Another of their buildings, located at 27-28 Thomson Avenue, was preserved and converted to the Arris Lofts (6 apts for sale) in 2008, becoming one of the neighborhood's first condominium developments.
Eagle Lofts is near several new residential towers including condominiums The Harrison and The Decker, and new rental buildings including The Forge, Halo LIC and 22-22 Jackson Avenue. Rockrose and SLCE partnered for another rental just across Jackson Avenue, a tower called Hayden at 43-25 Hunter Street which launched in 2017.
