Carter Horsley's Review of 240 East 55th Street

Carter Horsley's Building Review
"This pleasant, 14-story, white-brick, mid-block building was erected in 1959. It is a cooperative and has 99 apartments with a part-time doorman, common laundry, bike storage, and a live-in super. Washer/dryers are allowed with board approval. The building allows cats (sorry, no dogs), subletting after one year of ownership, and pied-a-terres, guarantors, go-purchasing, gifts, and guarantors, all on a case-by-case basis.

The building has some angled terraces, spiked sidewalk landscaping, a part-time doorman, discrete air-conditioners, large windows, but no garage, no roof deck, no balconies and no health club." Read Carter's Full Review
