Carter's Review
This 7-story building at 432 West 52nd Street was erected in 1950 for St. Vincent’s Midtown Hospital and converted to 55 condominium apartments in 2014 by JVL Property Group, Okada Acquisitions and Zion Enterprises.
Karl Fischer was the architect for the conversion.
Bottom Line
This pleasant, mid-rise building in Hell’s Kitchen is convenient to the theater district and has many small apartments.
Description
The red-brick building has an entrance marquee and dark metallic pilasters beneath large double cornices. It has a dark granite one-story base and sidewalk landscaping.
It has an impressive lobby with a sculpted walnut concierge desk in front of an “accent” wall of layers of thin quartzite.

In 2007, the Chetrit Group and Tessler Development bought the building and a surrounding property and a vacant lot for $84.73 million and then sold part of the property in June 2014 for $41.4 million.
