Carter’s Review

"This impressive, Art Deco-style tower at 160 Central Park South would be one of the most distinguished buildings along Central Park South were it not for its big rooftop sign that proclaims its name, the Essex House.

The 42-story building, which was designed by Frank Grad, was originally called the Park Tower and then the Seville Towers before becoming the Essex House Hotel."

Broker & Buyer Comments

This "grand dame" of Central Park South offers "ultra-luxury living" in a "historic pre-war" setting that masterfully blends hotel services with condominium living. The "lavishly renovated" lobby sets the tone for this "elegant" hybrid, where residents enjoy "breathtaking Central Park views", "complete concierge service" and "spa-quality amenities". "Steps from premier shopping" and multiple subway lines, the building provides "five-star hotel perks" including valet parking, room service, and a "sophisticated" business center. The "to-die-for roof deck" and recent "$90 million renovation" cement its status as one of Manhattan's most "distinguished addresses".
