Carter's Review
This very attractive, 10-story residential condominium building at 462 West 58th Street has four corner windows on its façade facing the street.
Although its first floor is flush except for its "floating" stone entrance surround, the rest of the façade has three major indentations and a few angles.
To make things even more interesting, FXFowle, the architect, has covered the façade with Trespa panels to give it a warm, natural dark wood appearance.
The building, which is known as the Hudson Hill Condominium, was developed by Alchemy Properties and has 67 apartments. Marketing for the building began in 2007.
The building has a 24-hour lobby attendant, a live-in superintendent, a video intercom system, a fitness center, a common outdoor patio. The apartments have washers and dryers and winecoolers and the bathrooms have radiant heated flooring. The building has some balconies.
It is close to Central Park and Columbus Circle and there is good public transportation.
FXFowle also designed the nearby Helena apartment tower and the Sky House on West 29th Street and the Isis on Second Avenue at 77th Street.
