This 17-story, mid-block, rental apartment building at 184 Lexington Avenue between 31st and 32nd Streets was erected by The Hakimian Organization in 1984.
It is also known as Lexington Plaza and 131 East 31st Street and it has 96 apartments.
The building was designed by Wechsler, Grasso, Menziuso. It is convenient to the Murray Hill and Kips Bay neighborhoods and not far from Gramercy Park.
Bottom Line
Not far from Murray Hill and Madison Square Park, this building has a very dramatic lobby and many balconies.
Description
The beige-brick building has many balconies arranged in three bays above the 5th floor and larger and broader balconies near the center of the façade between the 3rd and 5th floors.
It has a two-story, arched granite entrance surround and a canopied entrance.
The building’s lobby is very impressive with angled walls and a geometrically interesting concierge desk designed by BG Studio International Inc.

The building site was sold to the Hakimians by the Alabama Oil Company and had been a parking lot.
