Carter's Review

These two, handsome, red-brick, Federal-style buildings at 34 and 38 Prince Street between Mott and Mulberry streets in NoLiTa were once the Cathedral School and convent of the Basilica of St. Patrick's Cathedral across Prince Street. The basilica was established in 1807 and for many years was the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York.

The school was closed in 2010.

The 1826 building was converted to 9 residential condominium apartments in 2016 by Time Equities, which is headed by Francis Greenburger, and Hamlin Ventures, which is headed by Abby Hamlin.

The residential project is known as The Residences at Prince.

Marvel Architects designed the conversion.

Bottom Line

The apartments at The Residences at Prince are very large and occupy a very prime site overlooking the handsome yards of the Old St. Patrick's Cathedral close to many NoLiTa and SoHo boutiques and restaurants.
