Carter's Review
This pleasant, red-brick, 19-story apartment house was erected in 1947 and has 78 cooperative apartments.
It is distinguished by the softly curved white marble supports for its large entrance marquee over the building's canopy. The supports, two on each side of the entrance, are not free-standing and are unusual, quite original, subtle, not obstrusive and very elegant.
The building has a two-story limestone base, many balconies and a doorman. It permits protruding air-conditioners and is across 79P Street from some low-rise buildings that provide it with more "light and air." The building has no sidewalk landscaping, no
garage and no health club.
It is convenient to many restaurants and boutiques and good neighborhood shopping. It is close to several schools and not far from numerous museums and religious institutions. There is good cross-town bus service on 79P Street and a subway station is nearby at Lexington Avenue and 77th Street.
