Overview of 2 East 67th Street

2 East 67th Street, designed by renowned architect Rosario Candela in 1928, stands as one of the most esteemed addresses on the Upper East Side. The neoclassical limestone façade, featuring an upper-level loggia, reflects Candela's restrained and elegant style. Offering refined luxury living, the building originally comprised two duplex maisonettes, one duplex penthouse, and nine full-floor simplexes, each providing stunning views of Central Park.

The building is situated near premier shops, museums, galleries, and restaurants, the cooperative, also known as 856 Fifth Avenue, provides exceptional amenities including a full-time doorman, porters, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and private storage options. Combining modernity with classic elegance, this residence embodies a luxurious yet understated sensibility at this coveted New York address.

Carter’s Review

"This handsome, limestone-clad apartment building was erected by Michael E. Paterno in 1928 and converted to a cooperative in 1953.

Designed in Italian-Renaissance-palazzo style by Rosario Candela, one of the foremost architects of residential apartment buildings of his era, Warren & Wetmore with Shreve and Lamb as consulting architects, it has only 15 apartments."
