Carter's Review
This handsome, 15-story, apartment building was erected in 1928 and is a cooperative with 77 units.
The beige-brick, mid-block building has a three-story limestone base, a canopied entrance flanked by wall lanterns and sidewalk landscaping and its retail spaces are occupied by Coco Pazzo, a well-known restaurant, and Gil Ferrer, a hairdresser.
The Italian Renaissance palazzo-style building has a concierge and a small lobby and is around the corner from the Whitney Museum of American Art at Madison Avenue and 75th Street and from Clyde's, a large pharmacy and emporium on the avenue at 74th Street. A gourmet food store is also on the avenue at 74th Street. It has no garage, no health club, no balconies and no roof deck
There is cross-town bus service on 72nd Street but the closest subway station is at Lexington Avenue and 77th Street. Central Park is just down the street and this is one of the most attractive sections of the Upper East Side with many fashionable boutiques and art galleries and numerous religious and cultural institutions.
