Carter's Review
This 11-story, golden-grey-brick apartment building at 613 Baltic Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn, was scheduled for completion in 2017 by JDS Development Group that built the Art Deco-style Walker Tower in Chelsea and is building the crooked, copper-clad and kissing two towers at 626 First Avenue and the very tall and slim 111 West 57th Street and 9 DeKalb in Downtown Brooklyn.
It will have 44 condominium apartments, most of which are two- and three-bedroom units.
VOA Associates is the architect. Harrison Green is doing the landscape design.
Bottom Line
Discrete from a distance, but quite luxurious up close, this project by JDS, a high-end developer in Manhattan, is not the largest new development on Fourth Avenue but probably the nicest.
Description
The building has a private covered entry drop-off that leads down to an underground garage. The sales office at 303 Bond Street had large-scale art works by Anna Karlin made from materials that will be found at the building such as labradorite, walnut, oak, marble and quartz.
The building has some setbacks, some corner windows, some balconies, some terraces, and a small community center and about 3,000 square feet of retail space.
It also has a very attractive garden with glass doors and an elevated terrace.
Amenities
The building has a roof terrace with outdoor cinema, a residents’ lounge, a gym, a garden, and a 24-hour attended lobby and a full-time doorman.
Apartments
Apartments have Cristallo gold quartz kitchen countertops and Miele kitchen appliances and Miele washers and dryers.
Apartment 10B is a three-bedroom unit with an entry foyer that leads to an 18-foot-wide living/dining room with a pass-through, open kitchen and a 124-square-foot balcony.
