Carter's Review

This attractive, mid-rise apartment building at 618 Washington Avenue on the corner at Pacific Street in the Prospect Heights section of Brooklyn was completed in 2014 and has 10 condominium apartments.

It was erected by Hello Living, which is headed by Eli Karp and designed by Willy L. Zambrano of Zambrano Architectural Design.

Bottom Line

An attractive, 7-story building in Prospect Heights with only 10 condominium apartments, each with lacy and very attractive railed terraces and small balconies.

Description

The building is banded in white and black and has six levels of railed white balconies with four central black piers in front of two stacks of stairs.  The 6th floor is setback slightly on one side and the 7th floor is substantially but unevenly setback on two sides and is surmounted by dark mechanical space.

The balconies’ railings are quite thin and delicate-looking giving the façade a very lacy and elegant front.

The ground floor is dark.

Amenities

The building has a roof deck, garage, a bicycle room, and storage.

Apartments

Each apartment has a large balcony, floor-to-ceiling windows, windowed kitchens, and polished concrete floors with radiant heating.

The penthouse duplex had three bedrooms and the other units have two.

The larger two-bedroom units have an entrance from an open terrace to the 18-foot-long, 5-sided living room adjacent to the 11-foot-wide dining room that is next to the 13-foot-long open kitchen.  Both bedrooms have small balconies.

Apartment Type 1 is a two-bedroom unit with an entrance from an open terrace next to the outdoor elevator lobby that leads to an angled living area with an open kitchen.  Both bedrooms, the smaller of which is angled, have small balconies.
