Carter Horsley's Building Review Carter Horsley
Jun 07, 2017

Carter's Review

This striking and unusually colored, four-story, mid-block building at 313 St. Marks Avenue in Prospect Heights extends through to Bergen Street was developed in 2017 by Industrie Capital Partners and designed by S3 Architecture.

Durukan Design did the interiors.

The building is known as The Brooklyn Zinc and it has 75 rental apartments.

It is distinguished by its long, corrugated zinc panel façade on St. Marks Avenue and its quite short orange façade on Bergen Street.

The building’s site is 10-sided.

The building is not far from Prospect Park.

Bottom Line

Looking somewhat like a battleship-gray galleon without masts, the corrugated zinc façade of this mid-block rental apartment building in Prospect Heights is punctuated by yellow-framed and slightly hooded windows and is only missing Captain Hook as Peter Pan is romping in nearby Prospect Park.

Description

Windows on St. Marks Avenue have thin projecting frames that protrude further at the top and are yellow on the outside and white on the inside.

The top floor on St. Marks Avenue is mostly setback with a slight curve.

The first floor on St. Marks Avenue is mostly setback slightly.
