Carter's Review

This attractive, 19-story apartment building at 640 West 237th Street in Riverdale was erected in 2008 and has 65 condominium apartments.

It was developed by 3618 LLC of which Irene Susmano is a partner.

It was designed by Peter Claman of Schuman Lichtenstein Claman & Efron.

It is also known as 3621 Henry Hudson Parkway.

Bottom Line

A glass tower in Riverdale with many balconies and good amenities including shuttle service to Manhattan and for dreamers a domed observatory structure with telescope on its roof. 

Description

The building has an entrance canopy over a five-step-up entrance and a one-story limestone base beneath a glass façade.  It has sidewalk landscaping and is across from a small landscaped park.

The tower has one setback and a rooftop observatory structure next to a pergola.

Amenities

The building has a doorman, a 24-hour attended lobby, a gym, a live-in superintendent, cold storage, a children’s playroom, valet parking, a shuttle service to Manhattan, and a rooftop observatory structure with a Meade LX200GBS telescope.

Apartments

Penthouse B is a four-bedroom unit with an entry into a long hall that leads to a 27-foot-long living/dining room with a balcony that is next to an enclosed, windowed kitchen and has a stair leading up to a 37-foot-long terrace.

Apartment 14C is a five-bedroom unit with a 25-foot-long living/dining room with a balcony that is next to a large breakfast room/kitchen.  The unit also has a balcony off the third bedroom.

Apartment 15C is a three-bedroom unit with a very long wrap-around terrace with access from a 26-foot-long living/dining room next to an enclosed and windowed kitchen and from the corner master bedroom.
