Carter's Review

Built in 1924, this rather stately, 14-story building at 300 Riverside Drive on the northeast corner at 102nd Street was converted to a cooperative in 1979.

The brown-brick building was designed by George F. Pelham.

The building has 113 apartments.

Bottom Line

With its excellent views of the Hudson River and Riverside Park, this building is typical of the fine pre-war construction of the better Riverside Drive buildings.

Description

The building has a one-story rusticated limestone base and a two-step-up entrance with a very handsome cast-iron door and a handsome surround that is flanked by small scones.

The building has a large bandcourse above the third floor with some nice window surrounds on the 4th floor.

There are some balconies on the 11th floor and a stringcourse above the 3th floor.

The building has some discrete and protruding air-conditioners.

Amenities

It has a full-time doorman and a few balconies, but no garage, no roof deck and no fitness center.
