Overview of 310 West 72nd Street

Situated between West End Avenue and Riverside Drive, 310 West 72nd Street is a distinguished Italian Renaissance palazzo-style building, designed in 1924 by architect Robert T. Lyons, who also created iconic residences like the St. Urban at 285 Central Park West in 1906 and, in partnership with Bing & Bing, built "the tallest apartment building in the world" at 903 Park Avenue at 79th Street in 1916.

Converted to a cooperative in 1989, this elegant 16-story building hosts 119 residences and combines prewar charm with modern amenities. The building features a limestone base with a canopied entrance, distinct window reveals, and an expansive frontage along West 72nd Street. Residents enjoy full-service amenities, including a live-in superintendent, a community room/playroom, bike storage, central laundry facilities, and private storage. The location is steps from Riverside Park, with its scenic Hudson River views, dog park, and green spaces, and is close to convenient shopping, dining, and an express subway station at Broadway.

Carter’s Review

"This handsome, Italian Renaissance-palazzo-style apartment building was erected in 1924 and converted to a cooperative in 1989. The 16-story building has 119 apartments.

It is very close to Riverside Park and an express subway station is nearby at Broadway. This neighborhood has good shopping and is not far from the bustling Lincoln Center district to the south."

Price/Room (Est)

Why are we displaying the estimated price per room?

For some co-ops, instead of price per square foot, we use an estimate of the number of rooms for each sold apartment to chart price changes over time. This is because many co-op listings do not include square footage information, and this makes it challenging to calculate accurate square-foot averages.

By displaying the price per estimated room count, we are able to provide a more reliable and consistent metric for comparing sales in the building. While we hope that this gives you a clearer sense of price trends in the building, all data should be independently verified. All data provided are only estimates and should not be used to make any purchase or sale decision.
