Carter Horsley's Building Review Carter Horsley

59 CITYREALTY RATING

Carter's Review

This very handsome building was erected in 1923 and converted to a cooperative in 1973.

The 15-story, beige brick building has 58 apartments.

The building has nice terra cotta decoration around its arched, two-story-high entrance. The building, which has gargoyles, has nice bronze entrance doors beneath and a doorman and a canopy, but no cornice and no landscaping.

There are bandcourses at the second and third floors as well as two near the top of the building, which has a nice cornice. The third-story windows topped with decorative arched elements as are many of those on the next to top floor.

It has an excellent location and is very close to superb cross-town bus service, two blocks from a local subway station at Broadway and one block from Riverside Park. This neighborhood has many fine restaurants and very good neighborhood shopping.
