Carter's Review
This attractive, 6-story, mid-block building at 320 West 84th Street between West End Avenue and Riverside Drive on the Upper West Side was erected in 1900 and has 36 co-operative apartments. It was converted to a co-operative in 1977.
It was developed by Rosenberg and Feinberg. C. B. Meyers was the architect.
The building, which is known as the Hyperion, is half a block from Riverside Park.
The building is close to many restaurants and a large movie complex on Broadway as well as Zabar's, Harry's Shoes, and Barnes & Noble.
Bottom Line
An attractive mid-block building in the heart of the Upper West Side and a very short walk to Riverside Park.
Description
The building is missing its original ornate cornice.
The red-brick building has a two-story rusticated base with a simple, four-step-stoop beneath an ornate second-floor balcony with small sconces flanking the multi-paned entrance door. The original stoop has curved sides and was more elegant.
There is a small attractive balcony in the middle of the fifth story.
The building has large rusticated window surrounds above the bandcourse above the second story.
The third floor windows have pediments beneath decorative spandrels under the forth floor windows.
It permits window air-conditioners.

The building has a live-in superintendent, bicycle storage, a garden and a laundry. It is pet-friendly.
Apartments
Parlors and libraries were originally paneled in mahogany and dining rooms in antique oak.
The building originally had a 7-room and a 8-room apartments on each floor.
