Carter’s Review

"This handsome, red-brick, 11-story cooperative apartment building was designed as an 8-story building with a cornice in 1899 by Joseph Wolf and two years later was enlarged three stories with a mansard roof designed by Janes & Leo.

It is one block east of Riverside Park and one block south of a subway station. Columbia University is several blocks to the north on Broadway and the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Divine is also nearby."

This "grand dame" of Morningside Heights, the "magnificent" Manhasset, stands as a "stunning example" of Beaux-Arts architecture, spanning an entire Broadway block. The 1898 landmark building offers "old-world charm" with its distinctive dual entrances, while housing modern conveniences like bike storage and laundry facilities. "Supremely located" just one block from the 1 train, this 11-story co-op melds "historic grandeur" with "convenient living" in a prime Upper West Side location.

Price/Room (Est)

Why are we displaying the estimated price per room?

For some co-ops, instead of price per square foot, we use an estimate of the number of rooms for each sold apartment to chart price changes over time. This is because many co-op listings do not include square footage information, and this makes it challenging to calculate accurate square-foot averages.

By displaying the price per estimated room count, we are able to provide a more reliable and consistent metric for comparing sales in the building. While we hope that this gives you a clearer sense of price trends in the building, all data should be independently verified. All data provided are only estimates and should not be used to make any purchase or sale decision.
