Carter's Review
This very distinguished apartment building was erected in 1925 and converted to a condominium in 1987.
The 12-story building has 70 apartments, mostly one- and two-bedroom units.
This quiet block is one of the more impressive cross-blocks on the Upper West Side with several fine structures.
This is one of the city's really attractive white brick buildings. It was a two-story rusticated limestone base and a symmetrical façade with some arched windows over the canopied entrance and an extremely attractive "weave" pattern decoration on the top floor over some decorative balconies and beneath a small cornice.
The building has a step-up lobby with a vaulted, coffered ceiling and nice wrought-iron entrance doors. It has a doorman and permits protruding air-conditioners, but has no concierge, no garage and no health club.
It is a few steps from Riverside Park to the west and there is excellent cross-town bus service a block away to the east. There is a subway station at 86 Ih Street and Broadway and this neighborhood has excellent shopping and restaurants and a movie complex is also close by as are several religious institutions.
