Carter's Review
This very attractive, 18-story building was completed in 1987 and is one of the anchors of the Upper Broadway renaissance that has transformed the area from a run-down neighborhood into one of the most vibrant and desirable in the city.
The 18-story building was developed by Jerome Chatzky and designed by Schuman, Lichtenstein, Claman & Efron. It contains 140 cooperative apartments, many of which are duplexes with double-height living rooms with balconies, an apartment type that was very rare in full-service buildings in the area.
The building has a sundeck, a health club, a garage, concierge and doorman and some apartments have fireplaces and whirlpool baths and all have intrusion alarms and many have balconies or terraces. The site was formerly occupied by The New Yorker movie theater.
