Carter's Review

This 8-story building was erected in 1910 at 145 Avenue of the Americas in SoHo.  It has 24 luxury condominium apartments.

It was renovated in 2016 by Peter Moore and Sumaida & Kurana with Harry Meltzer as the architect.

The building, which is also known as 3-7 Dominick Street, overlooks SoHo Square Park and is convenient to several subways.

It has some retail space including the gift shop for the Dahesh Museum.

Bottom Line

Behind its robust but relatively plain façades lurk some large and luxurious condominium apartments.

Description

The building has a one-story, rusticated limestone base.  The large windows on the first and fourth floors are arched and there are bandcourses above the first and fourth floors.  The windows on the 2^nd through the 4^th floors are indented and have broad spandrels with three indented rectangles.

The building has a canopied entrance and discrete air-conditioners.

The building has a full-time doorman and pets are allowed.

Apartments

Apartment 5AB is a two-bedroom unit that has a 52-foot-long dining room across from a 17-foot-wide, open kitchen with an island it is next to a 29-foot-long living room and a 16-foot-wide media room.  The unit also has a 12-foot-wide den.

Apartment 4A is a three-bedroom unit with 3,100 square feet with 12-foot ceilings, roughhewn wood columns, a 35-foot-long living room and a kitchen with a 6-burner Viking hooded range, a Subzero refrigerator and a Miele dishwasher, a 35-foot-long master bedroom suite with an open bath.

Apartment 2B is a four-bedroom unit with two guest rooms and a 51-by-49-foot living/dining room and an enclosed, 20-foot-long kitchen.  One of the bedrooms has a curved wall.  The apartment design by Jendretzki was described by Stephanie Hoina in a March 31, 2015 article at 6sqft.com was a 6,000-square-foot “out of this world” loft with a “sure-to-be-a-conversation starter giant bubble structure housing two bedrooms” and the kitchen with its translucent, bright-blue cabinetry and black granite countertops.

Apartment 6B is a three-bedroom unit with 2,554 square feet and recessed lighting.

Apartment 5D is a three-bedroom unit with a 20-foot-long entrance gallery that leads to a 42-foot-long living room with an open kitchen and a 22-foot-wide terrace.

Apartment 5B is a two-bedroom unit with a 16-foot-long entry foyer that leads to a 36-foot-long living/dining room with an open, 12-foot-long kitchen.

Apartment 3D is a four-bedroom unit with a 27-foot-long entrance gallery that leads to a 35-foot-wide living/dining room with an open, 17-foot-wide kitchen with an island.

Apartment 3E is a studio unit with a 12-foot-long entry foyer that leads to a 26-foot-long living area with a 16-foot-wide open kitchen with an island and a 12-foot-wide sleeping alcove.
