Carter's Review
This rather striking, 12-story building at 635 Fourth Avenue in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn in 2017 and has 91 rental apartments. It is known as The Alexey.
It was erected by Bushburg Properties and designed by Nataliya Donskoy.
It has 2,995 square foot of commercial space and 1,392 square feet of community facility space.
Bottom Line
No chip off the old block, this fractured, mid-rise apartment cube is chuck full of surprises as its colored façades almost hide its glass core and many of its inset windows have one bright orange angled side.
Description
This is not a run-of-the-mill boxy, mid-rise apartment building.
It has a small plaza, many setbacks, several major façade colors, several slanted inset window surrounds, a couple of cantilevered sections near the top, and a “heart” of glass. All in all, a clever and intriguing, if not quite alluring, composition.
Amenities
It has a roof deck with cabanas and grills, a fitness center, a lounge, a business center, a garage, a garden, a virtual doorman, a bicycle room and a children’s playroom.
Apartments
A corner two-bedroom unit on the fifth floor has 758 square feet with an entry foyer next to the kitchen with a breakfast bar and the living room.
Apartment 1101 is a one-bedroom unit with 653 square feet with an open kitchen.
Apartment 202 is a one-bedroom, corner unit with 566 square feet and an open kitchen.
Apartment 707 is a studio corner unit with 427 square feet and an open kitchen.
