Carter's Review
This attractive, red-brick building at 100 Franklin Street in the TriBeCa East Historic District was erected in 2019 by DDG, which also developed 41 Bond Street and 180 East 88th Street. This 8-story building has 10 condominium apartments.
The site had been a parking lot since 1948 and is also known as 268 Church Street.
Bottom Line
A wedge-shaped building, this handsome, red-brick structure in TriBeCa with irregular fenestration is divided into two sections, an 8-story part on the south and a 6-story part on the north.
Description
The building's façade is hand-made Petersen Tegl Kolumba bricks.
The top floor in both sections of the building is faced mostly with glass beneath a thin cornice.
According to a CityRealty article April 8, 2017 the "project was first unveiled in 2013 as an eight-story structure clad in class and brick arches behind." The new, and current, design has Romanesque and Jack arches on the ground floor and plant shelves above the first floor. The project will also fund a park across the street.
The building's façade has many "holes" where its angle "thins out."
Amenities
The building has a virtual doorman, a full-time resident manager, a landscaped roof deck, a fitness center, a bicycle room and storage.
Apartments
Apartments have larch floors from around the Admont Abbey in Austria.
Its living rooms in the taller section are sharply angled.
Kitchens have Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances.
