Carter's Review
This five-story industrial loft building of 1915 at 146 Chambers Street in TriBeCa was enlarged by two floors and converted to a residential condominium in 2007 by G2 Development, of which Jeff Gerson and Scott Goldfarb are principals.
The building, which is between Hudson and Greenwich streets, now has five two-bedroom units and a duplex three-bedroom apartment.
Michael Zenreich was the architect for the conversion.
The ground floor is rented to Zucker’s, which sells bagels and smoked fish.
Bottom Line
This pleasant building has very few apartments and is close to the highly rated P.S. 234, City Hall, Battery Park City and the World Trade Center.
Description
The red-brick building has an attractive ground-floor retail space and the two-story roof addition is set back.
Amenities
The building has a virtual doorman system, a rooftop terrace and free basement storage.
Apartments
The apartments have high ceilings, gas fireplaces and washers and dryers.
Kitchens have walnut cabinetry, 42-inch Sub Zero refrigerators, 48-inch Viking ranges and grills, Bosch microwaves, wine storage, garbage disposal, Fisher Paykel dishwashers and double-basin sinks.
