This very attractive, 7-story, red-brick apartment building at 5 Harrison Street on the southeast corner at Staple Street in TriBeCa has six condominium apartments.
It was converted by Celia Paleologos of West Palm Beach, Florida. Richard R Farrara of de Le Cour & Farrara was the architect.
Bottom Line
This handsome building has a prime location on a cobblestone street in TriBeCa close to a former American Express stable and the very attractive Independence Plaza Towers near the Hudson River and the charming P. S. 234.
Description
The building has a limestone base with retail spaces and a very attractive stainless-steel entrance surround beneath a red metal spandrel flanked by handsome sconces.
The building's main façade is nicely divided by narrow ridges whose bottoms are limestone squares. The top floor has a different fenestration bottom and is topped by a series of stone-rimmed boxes beneath the flat roofline.
