Carter Horsley's Building Review Carter Horsley
Nov 26, 2019
74 CITYREALTY RATING

Carter's Review

This striking and rather dashing, 10-story building at 146 Church Street at Chambers Street in TriBeCa has only 8 condominium apartments.  It is known as TriBeCa Rogue and was built in 2019.

It was built by Greystone Development and designed by Woods Bagot.

The building's website offers the following commentary:

"We’re lean, mean, and an outlier’s dream. Because Manhattan is populated enough, who wants to see 20 different faces before reaching the sidewalk from their front door? Choose when and where you want to socialize. After all, with our location on the corner of Church Street and Chambers Street, that’s seven different subway lines a mere hop, skip, and a block away. And speaking of corners, we didn’t cut any – every unit gets one. With full-floor units and keyed elevator access, no one’s crowding your personal space. Now, that’s luxury."

Bottom Line

A small TriBeCa project at a prime location with considerable attitude and elan with corner windows, rakishly angled piers and a few setbacks.

Description

A svelte and dashing modern small building with jaunty and jagged angularity accented by an angled entrance marquee and an large angled bandcourse above the ground floor that also has some retail space.

The building also has some setbacks.

Amenities

The building has an off-site concierge and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Apartments

According to the building's website, each apartment has 5-inch oak plank floors, marble-clad bathrooms and is "outfitted with full Gaggenau appliances, rift walnut cabinets, and stunning Bianco Lasa Vena Oro marble countertop and backsplash, your Tribeca Rogue show kitchen is fully equipped for you to get your Top Chef on – even if that just means watching his cooking show while you reheat your Seamless delivery."

Each unit also a 35-foot-long living/dining room and a utility room with a washer and dryer "and enough space for all those keep-out-of-sight odds and ends."
