Carter's Review

The 10-story apartment building at 374 West 11th Street, which is also known as 425 West Street, has 8 condominium units and was erected in 1999.

It was development of Robert Haskell, a partner in Jedd Management, and designed by Chris Carrano, of ADG Architecture and Design.

The building has inset balconies facing the Hudson River and two setbacks.

Bottom Line

This plain-looking building has a prime riverfront location a little bit north of Richard Meier’s celebrated trio of modern mid-rise residential buildings. It has full-floor units and the penthouse was once owned by Giselle Bundchen, a model who was described by the late Braden Keil in a New York Post article as “the Brazilian bombshell, who intercepted the affections of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady….and [who} reportedly sold her gated Mediterranean-style home in Los Angeles to Quentin Tarantino."

Description

This mid-rise building has a canopied entrance on 11th Street and very broad corner windows from the 2nd to 8th floors.

It has an exposed rooftop watertank that is set back at the building’s rear.

Amenities

The building has a key-locked elevator and a video-intercom system. It is pet-friendly.

Apartments

The second floor is a two-bedroom unit that has an entry foyer that leads past an open kitchen with an island to a 30-foot-long living room with a 14-foot-long dining alcove and a small balcony.

Another floor is a one-bedroom unit with an entry foyer that leads by a 13-foot-long open kitchen with an island to a 25-foot-long living room with an angled, wood-burning fireplace and an 14-foot-long dining area and a 16-foot-long den and an 11-foot-long balcony.

History

Ms. Bundchen listed her penthouse for more than $10 million in 2007.
