Carter Horsley's Building Review Carter Horsley
Feb 19, 2019
80 CITYREALTY RATING

Carter's Review

This attractive, 6-story building at 456 Grand Street between Keap Street and Borinquen Place in Williamsburg was erected by Triangle Court LLC in 2014 and has 52 rental apartments.

It was designed by KOH Architecture.

The site was previously a vacant lot that was part of the city's PlaNYC Brownfield Cleanup Program.  The building was sold by AB Capstone and RJ Capital Holdings to Bronstein Properties for $43.5 million in 2017.

The building has two retail tenants.

It is distinguished by its angular plan, its attractive fenced entrance with a pergola and red-brick columns, its tan and brown façade, and its prominent modern cornice.

Bottom Line

An eccentric surprise, even for Williamsburg, this mid-rise, rental building has a pergola entrance, irregular fenestration, a charming fenced walkway with park benches, large living rooms and some large terraces.

Description
