Carter's Review

This 53-unit condominium apartment building at 42 Maspeth Avenue in the East Williamsburg section of Brooklyn is known as Forty2East and was developed in 2015 by Bondee Properties.

The building is 6 stories tall and is slightly angled.

Christopher V. Papa was the architect.  Durukan Design did the interiors.

It is a fifth of a mile distant from the Graham Avenue stop of the L subway.

Bottom Line

A highly articulated, dark, fortress-like structure with many balconies and white accents.

Description

The brown-brick building has a white stone base and white stone stringcourses above the first and fifth floors and on the roof line. 

There is a large arched window near the top of the center of the building on Maspeth Avenue and there are many balconies.

Amenities

Landscaped roof deck and rear yard, fitness center, pet washing station, and multi-media residents’ lounge.

Apartments

Kitchens have Shaker cabinetry, stainless-steel appliances by Fisher & Paykel and Bertazzoni and PentalQuartz countertops.

Apartment G on the 3rd through the 5th floors is a two-bedroom corner unit with a 20-foot-long living room with an open, pass-through kitchen and a balcony that is also accessible from the second bedroom.

Apartment H on the 3rd through the 5th floors is a corner, one-bedroom unit with a 14-foot-long living room with an open, pass-through kitchen and a large balcony.
