Carter's Review

The Lucent is a six-story, mid-block condominium project with 28 units at 170 North 11th Street between Bedford Avenue and Driggs Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

It built in 2013 by The Kiska Group of Brooklyn, of which Sekab Akyuz is a principal.

Gene Kaufman was the architect.

Bottom Line

This quite striking building is one block from the large and popular McCarren Park.

Description

The wings of the building are faced with brown brick and are setback considerably while the main façade is very bold with stone and glass continuous balconies.

The ground floor, which has no sidewalk landscaping, is indented a few feet to add to the building’s dimensionality.

Amenities

The building has a roof deck, a swimming pool, a curved lobby and parking.  It also allows pets.
 

Apartments

Apartments have washers and dryers and 4-inch Brazilian walnut hardwood floors.

Apartment 4E is a two-bedroom unit with a 24-foot-long living room and a 9-foot-long kitchen with an island.

Apartment 5A is a one-bedroom unit with an entry foyer that leads  past a open kitchen with a breakfast bar to a 24-foot-long living room.

Apartment 6B is a two-bedroom unit with a 23-foot-long living room with a 10-foot-long open kitchen with an island.
