Carter's Review

This attractive, 7-story, rental apartment building at 205 North 9th Street between Driggs Avenue and Roebling Street in Williamsburg is known as The Driggs and was erected in 2011.  It has 211 apartments.

It was developed by Simon Dushinsky and designed by Karl Fischer.

It is close to the Bedford Avenue station of the L subway.

Bottom Line

A large and colorful, mid-rise rental building in Williamsburg with a very nice roof deck with two-tier seating and slanted light stanchions.

Description

The building has a very attractive roof deck with two-tier wooden seating and slanted light stanchions.

The building has a slightly angled glass entrance marquee with a dark wood slatted entrance surround blanked by sidewalk landscaping.  The building has a two-story rusticated light-colored base that rises the full-height of the building narrowly in two places and the base does not extend fully around the building.

The building has discrete air-conditioners and brown and light-brown façades with clear glass balcony walls.  There are some corner windows.

The top floor is setback and there are setbacks also above the fifth floor.

Amenities

The building has a concierge, a landscaped roof deck, a live-in superintendent, a gym, on-site parking, and community recreation facilities.

Apartments

Apartment 7A is a two-bedroom unit with 1,192 square feet with a 22-foot-wide living room with an 8-foot-long kitchen with an island and 411 square foot terrace.  The second bedroom has a 117-square foot terrace.

Apartment 4I is a two-bedroom unit with 830 square feet with a 16-foot-wide living room with a balcony and an 8-foot-wide kitchen.

Apartment 5G is a two-bedroom unit with a 7-foot-long kitchen with a breakfast bar and an 11-foot-wide balcony off the second bedroom, which is next to the living/dining room.

Apartment 40 is a one-bedroom unit with 638 square feet with a 17-foot-long living room with a 7-foot-wide kitchen with a breakfast bar.
