Carter's Review

This 5-story residential building was completed in 2006 at 42 South 6th Street in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn and is called The Dunham.

It is also known as 24 Dunham Place and was designed by Gene Kaufman.

It was developed by Erden Arkan.

It has 14 condominium apartments.

Bottom Line

A sleek low-rise residential building that is modest but neat just to the south of the Williamsburg Bridge in Brooklyn.

Description

With its silvery-metal-panel-and-glass façade this building has a modern look and quite close to the East River and numerous Williamsburg restaurants.

Amenities

The building has an elevator and washer/dryer hook-ups.

Apartments

Apartments have GE Profile kitchen appliances, grey limestone countertops and there are some large corner windows.

Apartment 4B is a two-bedroom duplex with a 28-foot-long living/dining room with a 9-foot-long open kitchen with an island and a spiral staircase and a 17-fooot-long bedroom on the lower level and a 17-foot-long master bedroom with an angled 26-foot-long terrace on the upper level.

Apartment 4C is a two-bedroom duplex with a 23-foot-wide living/dining room with an open kitchen with an island and a 24-foot-wide terrace and an angled 14-foot-wide bedroom on the lower level and a 12-foot-wide master bedroom with an angled windowed spiral staircase and a 14-foot-long terrace on the upper level.

Apartment 1A is a duplex unit with a 17-foot-long living/dining room with an open kitchen on the upper floor and a 28-foot-long angled recreation room with a 15-foot-long angled terrace on the lower level.

Apartment 2C is a one-bedroom unit with a curved entry foyer that opens onto an open kitchen with an island and a 20-foot-wide living room.  The 14-foot-wide bedroom has a curved wall.
