Carter's Review

This handsome, 7-story rental apartment building 40 North 4th Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, was erected in 2014.

It has 86 units and was developed by Matarese/Mandella LLC, which took over the project from the Chetrit Group.

Elena Kalman was the architect.

The building is also known as 157 Kent Avenue.

Bottom Line

This sleek, glass-clad building has a prime location near the East River on Kent Avenue and has many amenities.

Description

The building has a chamfered corner with balconies and a middle section along Kent Avenue that is one-story higher than the ends and also has three slightly angled bays and many angled balconies.

Amenities

The building has a gym with an indoor pool and spa, a children’s playroom, a movie theater, a game room, a roof deck with private cabanas, an expresso bar and snack bar, a business center, a garage, bicycle storage, storage, a live-in superintendent, concierge service and a package room.  Pets are allowed.

Apartment 7J is a three-bedroom unit with an entry foyer that leads past an open kitchen to a 14-foot-wide living room that opens onto a large roof terrace.

Apartment 7 G is a two-bedroom unit with an entry foyer that leads past an open kitchen to an 11-foot-wide angled living/dining room that opens onto a large roof terrace.
