Carter's Review
This 5-story, mid-block apartment building was erected in 1927 and was converted to a cooperative with 42 units in 1985.
The red-brick building has a one-story, white-marble entrance surround and a canopied entrance with sidewalk landscaping. It has a three-step-down entrance with wall lanterns and a three-step-down vestibule and a two-step-down lobby. The building has consistent fenestration, fire escapes and permits protruding air-conditioners. It has no doorman, no health club and the Dalton School has a gymnasium on this block. It has no garage but there is one across the street.
There are many restaurants nearby on Second and Third Avenues as well as on 86th Street, which has excellent cross-town bus service. An express subway station is at 86th Street and Lexington Avenue where there is also a large Barnes & Noble bookstore and a large HMV music store.
